I guess my biggest lack of understanding because I don't have any of this stuff downloaded is on they offer up patches that when paired with the game alter it to create a "new game." How do you get these all into a single file to be able to dump onto an emulator? Please excuse my naivety. I've always played legit games or repro that a friend made me as, in all honestly, the hunt was damn near as fun or more fun than playing video games. I am 100% a novice when it comes to emulators and everything that comes with them.
BlastEm is probably your best bet for the Genesis right now. Try to test the roms on emulators that prioritize accuracy. Hacks that work flawlessly on cycle-accurate emulators are virtually guaranteed to work on original hardware.
